“Mahrez Makes a Promise to Al-Ahli Fans After Heavy Defeat”
Riyad Mahrez, the star of Al-Ahli Jeddah, has issued an apology to the club’s fans following a heavy defeat against Al-Fateh (5-1) in the fifth round of the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
Mahrez stated in television interviews, “It’s football. Sometimes you win, and other times you lose. I believe we performed well in the first half, and we had control of the game.”
He continued, “We made some mistakes that can happen in football in the second half, and we ended up losing.”
He added, “We apologize to our fans for our first loss, but we will come back stronger, God willing, and win the next match.”
After this defeat, Al-Ahli’s points tally stands at 12, and they have dropped to fourth place in the standings, while Al-Fateh has increased their points to 8, securing seventh place.
